MINI HOME

As the mobility dictated by turmoil of contemporary living grows and regulation barriers of dwelling policies become inaccessible, the need for alternative and affordable types of living is more and more present.

Mini Home housing unitsare transportable, made of local materials which are easy to assemble and, from an economical point of view, very affordable. These are the characteristics that open the possibilities for social strategies investing in solving housing problems of socially and economically vulnerable groups. Mini Home overcomes existing regulations and legal barriers and bring affordable housing for everyone.

In function of Communis, Mini Home fulfils the minimal needs of every individual defined by the basic housing functions. It is possible to extend the basic unit by adding a sanitary block and to adapt it to the typology of the settlement and/or context.

The housing unit is applicable in different surroundings and climate conditions, and it is adaptable to different individual affinities as it is possible to personalize the façade.

Besides being an accommodation solution for vulnerable groups, Mini Home can be used as a permanent dwelling unit in the city, as a weekend house in nature, as accommodation in camps andfestivals or as a type of a temporary housing unit by the river or in the mountains. Mini Home pushes the boundaries of mobility and settling inside and outside the urban context, it initiates the process of social change by forming a new style of housing.
